Good morning you all,
As you probably all notices, I went to Bruges with the bf. You can find the post here. I will know give you a closer look to the visits we did. There were 2 visit definitely worth visiting. One is the brewery 'De Halve Maan' and the order was the visit to the Belfort.
The most fun visit we did was definitely the brewery 'De Halve Maan', that's were they make the typical local beer 'Brugse Zot'. There are guided tours in different languages, so all tourist can follow the tour in their preferred language. Our guide really was the most fun lady walking around in Bruges. At every stop, she made some small jokes about fools (well he, the beer is called Brugse Zot, which means 'fool of Bruges' in English), the beer, the inhabitants of Bruges, but also other beers etc. Included in the price was also, and of course, a Brugse Zot. I don't like the taste of beer, but I tried. I had one swig and the rest was for the bf, who wasn't complaining of course. The pub/restaurant part of the brewery was really cozy. There was a fireplace, some oldskool sofas and a really warm atmosphere.
If you also planned to visit Bruges, definitely worth visiting.
The other visit we did was the Belfort tower. The Belfort is a huge tower of 83 meters high with 366 steps in the middle of Bruges. This lovely tower dates from the 13th century and was used as a market hall in Middles Ages. At this moment, the tower is one of the many world-heritage protected places. From the outside, the building looks like a church, but when you enter the building, there is a huge square in the middle. Once we started our long and hard trip to the top, we mentioned that the staircase was so small. It was almost dangerous to cross each other, but view on top of the tower as absolutely worth it. Unfortunately the weather wasn't so good, so our view wasn't as clear as we hoped, but still amazing beautiful.
